Talking to Myself

The kids get out of school in ten more days. Yay. I am looking forward to not having to nag about homework for a few months and I am also really excited about not having to wake the dead each morning. I'm not looking forward to feeding the children now that they are home all day but I'm getting used to that. I know that

How Did We Survive Memorial Day Edition

There were many submissions for this weeks episode of "How Did We Survive", and I can't wait to show them next week. Today's edition is so spectacular that it deserves to stand alone. I'm not even going to make any commentary because it really needs none. However, if you want the whole story head on over to Laundry Hurts My Feelings to get the details.

Parent/Teacher Conference

Last week I had a parent/teacher conference for my daughter.  A standard conference, she hasn't done anything to get into trouble. We'd known about the conference for a few weeks and we, as in the daughter, had been pretty worried about the meeting. That she was so concerned about the conference made me a little worried but I figured if she was really in trouble

National Cupcake Day and Websites to Avoid

Today is National Cupcake Day which is ironic considering all the press Lisa Ellis is getting for having her naked body turn up on Wyclef Jean's cell phone. If it were National Titty Cupcake Day it would be perfect for Miss Ellis. Of course she is busy looking for a new job right now so it probably doesn't matter to her. As you all know

Kids Today Don’t Appreciate The Classics

Last week I was surfing around the web and came across Margie and Edna's Basement. I've been reading their blog for ages and love it. Last week they had a little video montage of classic shows from the 60's. I played it while the kids were in the room with me since I knew there would be nothing they shouldn't see. As I was watching

I’d Like To Interrupt Your Winter

With a little bit of summer. These were taken at the cabin last summer. I miss summer. I was reminded of the cabin last night when I read this post on Theta Mom. I wrote a comment that turned into a post. It was way too long for a comment so I scrapped it and wrote something a little shorter. Theta Mom was talking about

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

I completely spaced out that today was a holiday. It wasn't until last night that I realized the kids don't have school today. Damn. Everything I have going on this week is going to get pushed back one day. This won't disrupt anyone's life. I had about three different posts rolling around in my head last night and this morning. They won't get developed because

Pluggin’ My Peeps

I won a contest over at The Maaaaa of Pricilla! I won three bars of the most wonderful soap on earth. Happy Goats Soap is so wonderful I can't even come up with words to describe how great it is but take my word for it. Patty has a few new soaps, one of which is called Monkey Farts and that is the one I

America is a Nation of Pussies

I woke up this morning and flipped on the TV which happened to be on CNN. I don't usually want to watch CNN first thing on a Sunday morning but I was captivated by something John King from State of the Union said right before he went to a commercial. It was a teaser for viewers to stay tuned for the upcoming segment. I don't

Winter Wonderland

When I was a kid we had four channels on the television. We had the three networks and public television.  Most kids today have no idea what that is like, nor what it is like to get up and have to change the channel by hand. Even though there were only four channels I still managed to spend most of my free time watching tv.
