I’ve been blogging for nearly two years now and have really loved every minute of it. I live my life by what I can post on the web. If I can’t post it it’s hardly worth doing. This attitude has freed me from some of the more mundane tasks in my life.
Why do laundry? No one wants to read about it unless you have to do it in an urban intercity laundromat and I don’t ever want to do that again.
I’ve already blogged about cooking so there is no need to do it anymore. Take out works for me.
It has also helped me to venture out in the world more, looking for more interesting things to post about. Why just go out for tea when you can go out for tea and go to the ER at the same time?
It’s help me be more open about my body. And I’ve been able to educate you on what a real redhead is like in bed.
I’ve also come clean about my addiction.
So blogging has been wonderful and coming into another winter where we all seem to blog more and visit each other more I am reminded of a few things that really pissed me off last year when I started using Entrecard.
I’ve already noticed a few blogs with falling leaves superimposed over their web page. Whoever these people are, and I’m not naming names, stop it now. Cease and desist and don’t even think about putting snow on your blog when the temperature starts to drop. It messes up loading time and frankly it’s annoying. If I want to see falling leaves I’ll go outside where I can smell them too. I don’t want to be reminded that in a couple of weeks I’m going to be outside raking them all up.
The dancing guy. Remember him? The avatar dude who dances and slows down the loading time of the page. I thought he had faded away but I see him more and more these days. He’s creepy and he doesn’t really look like you. If you want an avatar that looks like you take a picture of yourself and put it on your blog. You probably don’t dance as well as he does anyway.
Just a little reminder, we’re all in this together.
LOL I have seen the falling leaves but the dancing characters I don't think I came across those yet.
Add leaves to the five zillion ads that load before the post… Holy Cow Batman this could take forever!
Some people just love Fall. I used to love Fall until I went through menopause and am now cold all the time. Now I love Summer.
I also have not seen the dancing dude.
I do have to thank you, though, 'cause you have taught me how to be a better blogger. It is from you I learned to answer my comments. Also to occasionally link elsewhere for fun.
So, thank you! Blog on!
Stacie, the dancing guy was big last year, obnoxious little fellow, I think it could be a woman as well. Count yourself lucky if you aren't coming across it all the time.
RedKathy, I have ads but I think they load pretty fast, it's all the flash stuff. My rule is anything that moves or makes noise is a big no-no.
Pricilla, I love fall, still my favorite season but I haven't gone through menopause yet, but it's out there…looming. I'm glad I helped you and you have taught me to leave comments more frequently. Linking elsewhere is fun because you get to tell others about the great blogs out there, like yours.
Rut-roh.
I'm guilty of the falling leaves. (paperbag over my head)
I will be guilty of snow too.
(paperbag over my head again)
Here comes the big whine:
I can't help it!!!
I am a total geek who loves playing with Photoshop for one thing(no offense to geeks). For another, I do love the cold weather! Love it, love it, love it!!
Sorry about the months ahead. I will definitely think of you and be regretful while I am giddy with delight. lol
I totally agree
Marie, admitting you have a problem is half the battle. At least you know. Enjoy your snow and falling leaves, I have enough of the real stuff and don't want to see it on my blog. If I knew how to do it I'd probably do it myself. At least you don't have music or some announcer telling me "You've Won".
Peach, I thought you would. Welcome, I'm going to take a look at your site.
I still can't figure out how to get a tab that allows my readers to get updates via e-mail. I will never have the capability to add leaves 🙂
Can't stand all those things that slow down the page loading. I'd rather unfollow that blog.
I am a little bit scairted of the dancing man.
Blogging is so much more important than housework… or regular work.
So true! Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us.
Lorella, if I knew how to do it I might do it myself instead I make jokes about people who are more technically inclined than me. If I figure out the tab thing I'll let you know.
Gillian, I do just that. I forgot to mention music. I surf in silence and jump about three feet off my chair when I get to a site with music or talks to me.
Daisy, he is really creepy and you should be scared.
CatLady, isn't it? It's not like anyone cares if there is a hot meal or a clean house, no one ever says thank you. If my kids left me comments it might be different.
Lenox, everything I do on this site if for my readers, and since you guys appreciate it it just makes me wish my kids read my blogs…maybe not.
I have neither of those things…
Stacie, then you have nothing to worry about. Even if you did I'd still stop over.
just starting to blog. how did you figure this stuff out? so much to say, so little time to write! love ur blog! will tell my friends about it!
Aubrey, I'm still figuring things out. There are so many places on the interwebs to find information. Send me an email and we'll chat.
If you want me to visit, you will NOT:
1) include animations that take more than a microsecond to load–which means any.
2) include music. Don't like yours, anyway
3) do anything that makes a page load more slowly–like all those fancy widgets on everyone's sidebars
4) (my pet peeve) require me to log in.
Mother, I completely agree and I plan to do a major overhaul to my blog soon to get all the crap organized.
well, i do have my awards on a scroll, does that count as annoying?..lol.
I hear you about the falling leaves and snow, it doesnt bother me to much, but i dont have the time to wait till its loaded.
I just dont have the patience.
winter is coming, and I can get back to blogging. I didnt blog much this summer due to the munchkins comings and goings..
Well, I've written a couple posts about my kids so I guess that means I can get rid of them. Have you written about kids yet? Do you want them?
