It’s been a while since I did a Year In Review post. Hell, it’s been a while since I did a post. It’s been even longer that my posts lived up to the title of my blog. Not sure this will reach that lofty goal, but it’d be nice to get back to the basics of this blog instead of being all movie reviews – which I am woefully behind on – go see the new Spider Man movie, it’s totally awesome. While you’re at it go see Bohemian Rhapsody too.

If you haven’t already, there’s still time to nominate someone for a free website or website makeover. You can nominate yourself or someone you think could really use the help. You can find out more about it here.

I did post a fair amount of recipes this year, though my most popular one is still the Instant Pot Shrimp Alfredo recipe. If you haven’t tried it, it’s amazing and fast and basically foolproof. I also did some Walking Dead inspired recipes this year. They didn’t get as much traction, but still tasty. Carol’s Casserole and Daryl’s Marinated Chicken – give them a try.

Here are some other recipes from 2018

Big Mac Hot Dish – one of my favorites, but not for everyone…

Reuben Balls

Instant Pot Pea Soup in 9 Minutes

Ham and Wild Rice Soup

Speaking of the Walking Dead, I had a few thoughts about the show and how it might have Jumped the Shark. In fact, I was so upset about it I wrote an Open Letter to Scott Gimple. He never responded.

There was a lot of change this year regarding work. Even though the change came at the worst possible time, and the person who made the change was a complete asshole about it, I’m grateful for the change and relieved not to be working for such a soul sucking dick anymore.

My mother’s dementia was consistent this year. She didn’t go completely off the rails, and some days – most days – it is easier when she is delusional than when she is lucid. Her delusions are doozies and entertaining for her and for me. When she’s stuck in reality it’s not as much fun.

Apparently WordPress changed their editor and now uses these things called Blocks, they do not work well with Safari or possibly a Mac. Not sure yet, but will likely be going back to the old editor if that is possible.

I got rear ended last month, that totally sucked because they totaled out my car and now I have to buy a new one. A new used one. For the past couple of weeks I have been dealing with the dregs of society including used car salesmen and insurance agents. Blech.

I was tired this year.

And I went to court – again.

Other than that, it was a pretty decent year. A lot of good things happened. I met some really cool people and reconnected with people I hadn’t seen in a long time. I am grateful for that.

As of this writing, Trump has not brought us to war. He did a lot of things that had everyone up in arms, but the world is still spinning.

I hope you had a wonderful year, and I hope 2019 is even better than 2018.

Happy New Year!
