Old Fashioned Apple Crisp Recipe

I love this time of year!! The days are getting shorter, the nights are cooler and apples are in season!! Sure, pumpkin spice season is happening simultaneously, but why not enjoy both? No need to choose Team Apple or Team Pumpkin Spice – enjoy both while they are so briefly in season.

Old Fashioned apple crisp is one of my favorite desserts because it is so easy to make and it’s delicious.

Each year we go to a favorite local apple farm  – Aamodt’s Apple Farm – and choose a variety of apples. Right now – mid September – you can get Honey Crisp, First Kiss, Sweetango, Zestar and Cortland apples. Check out their website for other events taking place (they also have wine and cider tasting, a goat farm for the kids and wagon rides!) each day and on weekends.

It doesn’t matter what kind of apples you use to make Old Fashioned Apple Crisp, with all the sugar, cinnamon and topping it will be amazing with any variety.
