I’ve spent the last few years figuring out what actually works on X.
Not what people say works. What actually does.
I didn’t get it at first. I signed up back in 2008, posted a few tweets, got nothing back, and went back to Facebook. It felt like shouting into the void.
Then things shifted. I wasn’t allowed to say certain things on Facebook without people unfriending or blocking me, so I came back to Twitter. This was right before Elon bought it.
Since then, I rebuilt my audience after losing half of it to a bot purge and the wave of people who left when he took over. I went from around 4,000 followers to nearly 45,000.
I got monetized after a post went viral, and I’ve had payouts coming in ever since.
Somewhere in there, I started paying attention.
What works. What doesn’t. What gets ignored. What actually builds something over time.
Most of what you read about growing on X is either outdated or written by people who don’t actually rely on it for income. That’s part of the problem.
What Most People Get Wrong
Most people trying to get monetized, or stay monetized, don’t have a strategy.
They’re throwing anything and everything at the wall and hoping it sticks like al dente spaghetti.
The problem is, that doesn’t work.
The algorithm doesn’t know what to do with you because there’s no consistency. Then they complain when their engagement drops and their payments get paused — like it’s a mystery.
There Is a Better Way to Do This
There is a better way to do this.
Stop posting at random. Start paying attention to what actually works.
You don’t need to chase trends or go viral. You need consistency. You need clarity. You need the platform to know what to do with you.
Once that clicks, growth gets easier, engagement makes sense, and monetization stops feeling like luck.
What This Turns Into
This isn’t just about posting better.
This is about building an audience that actually pays attention — and then knowing what to do with that.
Most people never get that far.
They grow a little, stall out, and never connect it to anything that generates income.
That part is not complicated. It’s just not talked about clearly.
Before You Go
You don’t have to participate in the drama to grow here. You don’t have to chase every trend. You don’t have to say things you don’t actually believe just to get attention.
And you don’t have to lower the bar.
But you do have to know what you’re doing.
What to post. What to ignore. How to build something people actually want to follow. And how to turn that into income.
That’s what I put together in the guide.
