Tomorrow is election day not only for president of these united states but here in my little midwestern neck of the woods for senator too. Currently we have Norm Coleman who has done many things, good and bad, for Minnesota but is best known for bringing hockey back to the state.
Norm is being challenged by Al Franken.

People don’t generally like Norm all that much. He is pretty tight with George Bush. Minnesota is strong Democrat state. I can’t remember the last time we went Republican. I know we were one of the few states that didn’t go for Reagan in his landslide.

Anyway…Al Franken is giving Norm Coleman a run for the senate seat. Right now he is ahead in the polls. There is a third candidate, a friend of Jesse Ventura, who will pull a few votes from either candidtate but is really a non player in this race. I can’t even remember his name and I don’t care to look it up. I do know he has an ad on Match.com.

The race between Franken and Coleman has been brutal. So bad that Coleman decided it was too nasty and stopped running attack ads a couple of weeks ago. His party has not stopped however.

I liked Al Franken on SNL back in the 70’s and 80’s. He was funny, crude, but funny. I don’t think that qualifies him to represent our state. I’m not too pleased about his inability to pay his taxes and then his excuse that followed, he didn’t know he was supposed to pay them. I recall, from driver’s education that ignorance of the law was no excuse.

If Barrack Obama wins the shift of power to the dems will be complete. I can’t vote for Al Franken.
