It feels like the last couple years we have been bombarded with articles that coconut oil is awesome and we can use it for everything. DIY this and that with coconut oil.  And not even just for beauty products but is now recommended for consumption! We’ll stick with what I know…. the staying pretty part .

What Kind Of Coconut Oil Should I Buy?

I would say it depends what you are using it for. If you are looking to make a scrub or a hair mask, you will want something with some consistency so I would go with organic, unrefined, virgin coconut oil. Typically, this is harder and found in jars and when needed it can be softened with heat.

Coconut Oil Makeup Remover

For a long time I was a slave to the makeup wipe. I loved ease of use and they were nice to take to the gym, but they took a few to do the job. I’m a girl who loves a heavy makeup application some days.  I also had a hard time finding a formula in general that didn’t hella irritate my skin. And I just banked on it making my eyes red since they are super sensitive. Eventually I started getting irritation that would go beyond my eye, like a slight rash that I never attributed to the wipes but thought it was a makeup product. Wrong! In my new search for a more natural makeup remover I found often in reviews everyone was commenting “DUDE! Use coconut oil” That was fine and great but I legit was not going to go heat it up every time. And then someone mentioned that it came in liquid form and the makeup remover angels sang! It literally just melts it off your face, you don’t need to scrub like a maniac. Now, eyes you still have to be delicate with – as in don’t get it in your eyes. If you have crazy sensitive eyes like myself you might still want to stick with an eye specific formula like Clinique’s Take Off The Day, but at least this way it will last you much longer than having to do your entire face. The other benefit after using coconut oil to remove your makeup is that your skin feel fabulous afterwards.
