I joined Humor Bloggers last month. I participated in the Christmas Carnival of worst gifts ever received. Thanks every one for suggesting what I do with that iron. When Humor Bloggers upgraded the site I received an email saying:
Dear Redhead Ranting
I am happy to announce that Humor Bloggers 2.0 is up and running and now accessible by clicking http://humorbloggers.com!!!
However, despite a valiant attempt, and hours of pulling my hair out, I was unable to transfer our member data base manually (without adding each of you separately, which I don’t have the time to do!) so if you don’t mind taking a minute to re-sign up, I have a spot already reserved for you!! 🙂
Thanks again for all your support and I hope you enjoy our new site!
I didn’t get to it right away because I’m pretty unorganized, I re-signed up earlier this week. Today I got this message:
Thank you for your interest in Humor Bloggers dot com. Your request for membership was not accepted at this time. However, if you wish, you may re-apply again after 30 days.
We are well aware that humor is very subjective, and that approval to the cabal often depends on the voter panel available at the time of your review. Please be aware that the voter panel changes often. This is done to allow a variety of humor blogs a fair chance at being approved.
Thank you so much again for your interest,
The Humorbloggers Administration Team
So guys, what’s up with that?
Doesn’t sound very funny to me, either! How can they judge what is funny and what isn’t? Surely it’s very subjective. I agree with the last commentor, don’t take it lieing down, ask them why you were funny before but you are not funny now?
They didn’t think I was funny enough for them either. Just another in a long list of DENIEDs. *sigh*
They fear you. They’re afraid that allowing your writing to be compared alongside of theirs will make them look bad.
Or it was an administrative burp in the system, but the fear thing makes a better story to tell at parties.
Screw ’em. I think you are funny.
Maybe you’re being pranked. But that’s not funny. In which case you should reject THEIR membership.
Hmm, well as owner of said cabal I can only say that if it took you more than a few weeks to re-register at the new site, then you were treated as a new applicant and your blog was put to a vote.
Apparently the community didn’t find the funny but what do they know? :p
You can reapply again in 30 days, but if you don’t want to I completely understand. Just don’t firebomb the HBDC headquarters and end up in prison over it.
If it doesn’t make one laugh..it isn’t funny…
Nice to see you got in a pure guilt..or did you tell your readers that one ?
