Big news: my new book 128 Small Things You Can Do Right Now To Make The World A Better Place is available now! You can get it now on Amazon, Barnes & Noble/Nook and eventually on Apple – I’m still working out some kinks.

This is the book I wrote instead of finishing the other book I had almost completed – Bad Dates: A Cautionary Tale. I don’t know what happened, I just kinda choked. I think it was getting a little discouraging and dark so I wanted to something light. Doing this in the darkest winter months probably didn’t help either.

Anyway, if you liked Ginger Snapped, you’ll enjoy 128 Small Things You Can Do Right Now To Make The World A Better Place as it’s a similar bathroom reader sort of book.

I wrote this book because I kept noticing how everyone seems to be carrying the world on their shoulders. I’m in Minnesota, Ground Zero for all the nuttiness going on in the country. The belly of the beast if you will. It’s cold, it’s dark and there seems to be some kind of battle for the soul of the country taking place. It’s hard to feel upbeat or to enjoy yourself when all around you is chaos and calamity.

It’s ok to take a break from protesting, or from protesting the protesting and just enjoy yourself. Problem is, we’ve all been taking things so seriously for so long a lot of us need permission to have a little fun.

Here’s your permission.

The upside, is that by having a little fun, by doing a little self care, and taking care of yourself for a change, you’re actually making the world a better place. No really, it’s ok. Enjoy yourself – it’s good for the world.

About 128 Small Things You Can Do Right Now To Make The World A Better Place:

128 Small Things You Can Do Right Now To Make The World A Better Place is exactly what it sounds like – and not at all what you think.

It’s not about fixing the economy, reforming Congress, or achieving inner peace while floating on a paddleboard at sunrise.

It’s about the small stuff.

The things we’ve quietly stopped doing.

The things we know better than to do.

The things that make daily life either pleasant… or completely exhausting.

This book is a collection of 128 bite-sized reminders, nudges, observations, and occasional gentle scoldings about how to function like a civilized adult in modern society.

Some are obvious. Some are overdue. A few might make you laugh. A couple might make you close the book, stare into the distance, and reconsider a recent life choice.

Nothing in here requires a trust fund, a political campaign, or a spiritual awakening.

It does require a little awareness.

And maybe a touch of humility.

The world rarely falls apart all at once. It frays at the edges – in traffic, at dinner tables, in comment sections, in everyday interactions that either build trust or quietly erode it.

This book is about tending to the edges.

You don’t have to change everything.

You just have to change something.

Preferably today.
