Yep, we are up to the challenge. Metro Dentalcare is challenging Minnesota families to brush their teeth twice a day for two minutes each day. Sounds easy enough but if you have kids, getting them to brush their teeth can be a challenge in itself. Metro Dentalcare has given me this awesome care package to help me get my kids to brush their teeth.
As you can see I will soon have a post about the timer falling into the drain.
Metro Dentalcare is challenging Minnesotans to take the time to ensure their kids are brushing their teeth for the recommended two minutes each time they brush and to make it more enticing they are offering up two sets of four pack tickets to a Minnesota Twins game and to make it really easy all you have to do is leave a comment telling me you are up to the challenge. There are 8 Minnesota bloggers offering this challenge so leaving a comment here does not ensure one of my readers will win the tickets, though the odds are still pretty good. Sorry this is only open to Minnesotans unless you plan on traveling here for the game.
There are many ways you can get your kids to brush for two minutes, have them sing a song, use a timer (like the one that will surely be in my drain soon) or use a light up toothbrush. I don’t recommend the child who is brushing to sing the song as that might make brushing a little difficult.
I was sent two care packages, one for each kid, but when I mentioned it to the 18 year old he gave me this look that said I must be crazy if I thought he would use a light up toothbrush or a timer. He’s 18, if he doesn’t know how to brush his teeth I can’t make him. Though I suppose I could take the car away if he doesn’t.
So, are you up to the challenge?
We goats don’t brush and we only have teeth on the bottom. Our “uppers” don’t exist. It’s actually a hard plate that we use to grind our hay and grain and apples if we are lucky enough to get against.
Plus I would never get to Minnesota – they don’t let goats fly first class and how else would a famous SpokesGoat travel?
Wow, I had no idea that goats do not have upper teeth. That’s crazy.
We goats are very interesting creatures…..most of our food is hard and therefore it needs grinding so teeth are not efficient. That is why, if you watch a goat eat our bottom jaws move in almost a circular manner. We are grinding the food against the hard palate on top.
Or we are chewing our cud. One or the other.
That is very interesting. It’s true, you learn something new every day.
No upper teeth? Learned something today! My Chihuahua doesn’t have any upper teeth, but that’s only because she’s kind of old and many of them fell out and some had to be pulled. Now her tongue sticks out of the side of her mouth a lot, especially when she’s been sleeping. It’s so cute! Pricilla, does your tongue ever hang out of your mouth?
I refuse to discuss the photos that have appeared while I was either sleeping or enjoying a post fermented apple goat dance of joy.
Harumph!
I have a sonic toothbrush with a built in timer. I just keep brushing until it shuts itself off. No singing, hourglasses or light-up toothbrushes required! 🙂
Oh, I’m totally up for the challenge. I doubt I’ll be able to get my 14-year-old son to participate – but, I would like to have a nice, shiny, white, smile for the TBCOF!
OMG TBCOF?!?!? We are not using that as the acronym, say it out loud. TB was
bad enough but TB Cough! Ack!!!!
OOOOH! OOPS!!! HA! MY BAD!
When my son was younger I bought him one of those musical toothbrushes so he knew that when the song ended, he could stop brushing. 2 minutes is a LONG time, LOL.
Anyone who would like to participate in the challenge and would like a free package sent to their home with a Firefly toothbrush and other fun items can e-mail me at ameyer@amdpi.com. Please be sure to include how many kids you have, their ages and genders.
Thanks!
