I’m no political wiz but today was a sad day. I don’t begin to judge the wisdom of the Supreme Court, from what I have heard they did what they should have done. My issue is that our freedom and liberty is slowly being chipped away by our own government. Never a good thing.
I would love to have affordable health care for everyone but mandating it or taxing it isn’t the answer. You want better healthcare that’s affordable then start with the insurance companies which are no different than banks or any Ponzi scheme Madoff dreamed up.
We need health care reform, not laws forcing us to buy a crappy product. Improve health insurance and you won’t have to force people to buy it.
Don’t make me pay for bad business.
We should always default to more freedom, not less.
In the words of Thomas Jefferson:
- The policy of the American government is to leave their citizens free, neither restraining nor aiding them in their pursuits.
- I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
- When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
- In matters of style, swim with the current; In matters of principle, stand like a rock.
- Were we directed from Washington when to sow and when to reap, we should soon want bread.
- I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
- The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
- Most bad government has grown out of too much government.
- The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.
Jen, I couldn’t agree with you more. Very well stated.
I stand with you and Tom.
Agreement, here too!
